The GTO signal sense on our current line of converters tend not to work with Class D amplifiers. The GTO signal sense works by detecting a DC offset. Most current Class D amplifiers do not have that offset, instead they have a carrier signal that our GTO does not detect, thus will not turn the converter on.
In these cases, you will need to use a traditional 12 volt trigger to turn on the converter.
Our new DM-810 and DM-608 processors will be able to detect both the carrier wave and DC offset, thus will be able to work with more factory OEM amplifiers including Class D amplifiers.
